The Fairview Park Women’s Club is a nonprofit organization whose charitable, educational, and philanthropic activities serve Fairview Park and the Greater Cleveland area. Membership is open to all women aged 21 and older. You do not have to live in Fairview Park; in fact, several of our members live in surrounding communities.

Our club year runs from June through May, with monthly meetings September through May. Dues are $35 per club year.

Meetings

General membership meetings

Regular membership meetings are typically held the third Monday of the month, September through May, at 7 p.m. at Bain Park Cabin, with a few exceptions.

As of summer 2026, Bain Park Cabin is undergoing renovations and we are meeting at the Gemini Center.

In December we have a holiday party at a member’s home in place of our regular meeting, on either the second or third Monday, depending on how the calendar falls.

Our May meeting is our officer installation dinner, which is usually held at a local restaurant. We try to keep the cost reasonable, and there is a cash bar.

Always check the calendar page to confirm the meeting date, time, and location.

What happens on meeting night?

We gather together at Bain Park Cabin and enjoy casual fellowship and light refreshments before the meeting begins. At our September and January meetings, we share in a potluck dinner.

Most months, we bring in checks or items to donate, such as cans of food for the Hunger Center, as part of our Helping Hands — each month our Helping Hands chair will announce what we will be collecting and for which organization.

We welcome our visitors and get some basic information so we can properly introduce them during the course of the meeting.

The president calls the meeting to order, and the business meeting begins. Officers and chairs give reports, members discuss old and new business, and we go over any announcements and upcoming activities.

When the business part of the meeting is finished, there may be a program or activity. Recent programs have included speakers on local history, how to use the library’s makerspace, and feeding the birds. Activities have included preparing decorations for our wine tasting fundraiser and helping make favors for Meals on Wheels to distribute with their lunches.

At the conclusion of the meeting, members chat as we help the Social Committee clean up.

If this sounds like a group that you might be interested in, we welcome you to join us at a general membership meeting, talk to one of our members, or contact us via email: fairviewparkwc@gmail.com.

Board meetings

Board meetings take place the Thursday before the general meeting at 7 p.m. There is no board meeting in December, and there is an additional board planning and budgeting meeting in June. The location varies each month and is noted on the online calendar.

General members are welcome to attend board meetings; please contact the current president or board member at large to RSVP. Because board meetings take place in members’ homes, we need to make sure we have enough seating for everyone.

Pandemic policy

FPWC is committed to providing a safe environment for our members and guests during our meetings and events. We follow current CDC recommendations regarding gatherings and masking.

If there is a surge, events may be postponed, moved online, or canceled. Please be sure to check our calendar for updates on meeting and event cancelations and switches to Zoom. These announcements will be sent to members via email as well.
